Cleaning with cooking ingredients

Pouring baking soda, lemon, and vinegar combinations on household surfaces is gaining traction as people look for ways to keep their homes clean and smelling fresh, without stretching the household budget.

While popular brands such as BioKleen, Charlie’s Soap and Ecover keep people coming in our doors, Park + Vine now carries baking soda, lemon and lime juices, white distilled vinegar, olive oil and vegetable glycerin for customers who want to keep their cleaning supplies simple.

There’s still time to learn how to make safe and inexpensive green households products at Get Clean, Save Money, Go Green 7 to 8:30 p.m. July 30 and Aug. 13 at Imago Earth Center, 700 Enright Avenue. The cost is $10 per class or $25 for all three classes. Registration is limited to 12 people per class. RSVP 859-240-6140.
