Eco-village on view during May 18 tour

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Cincinnati’s Enright Ridge Urban Eco-Village is showcasing 11 homes during its second annual home and garden tour 1 to 4 p.m. May 18. Homes on the tour have been rehabbed for energy efficiency and sustainability and include such features as super-insulation of roofs and walls, low VOC paints and rain gardens.

Founded in 2004, the eco-village was originally sponsored by Imago as a way to counter foreclosures along Enright Ave. The non-profit has purchased four houses on the street, three of which have sold, as well as the building at the corner of Enright and West Eighth Street. The neighborhood also features a food co-op and is working on walking trails and a bike co-op.
